Joins us on Monday 9/3 for the 46th Annual Newtown Labor Day Parade, Newtown CT

There is nothing like a town parade with marching bands, clowns, jugglers, cotton candy and the infectious joy we experience when we share good times and wholesome fun with those we love, our friends, families and neighbors. Everyone is welcome to join us for a fun-filled morning at Newtown's 46th Annual Labor Day Parade. Over 25,000 people are expected to attend.

The parade will begin at 10AM (Obama volunteers and marchers should arrive by 9:15am as noted below) and will last approximately one hour. Here are the particulars:

Stagging area: The corner of Academy Lane and Main Street, Newtown CT. Follow link to Google maps for directions: http://maps.google.com/maps?tab=wl.

Parking: TBA

Arrival Time: ALL participants must arrive at the stagging area above by 9:15am to check in, park, get instructions and Obama posters, sign up sheets and clip boards, stickers and supporter cards.

End of Parade Turn In: At the end of the parade, please return to the stagging area and turn in to Val McCall all used and unused Obama materials -- sign up sheets, supporter cards, clip boards, stickers, signs, banner -- all left over supplies.

What to Wear/Not to Wear: Comfortable clothing and shoes -- as few personal items as possible. Ladies, it is best to lock your purses in the trunk of your car and not carry them with you. This way, your hands will be free to sign up volunteers and supporters, pass out stickers, hold a sign, etc. Please wear sun block and bring water.

Late Arrivals, Emergencies, Questions: If you get there late, have an emergency during the parade, or need to leave early, or have any questions or concerns, please call Val McCall at 860-995-3364.

See you on Monday for a great Labor Day parade!
